Consent to processing of personal data

By ticking the consent box in a form on 404vpn.io and pressing the send button or the Telegram button, I freely give the 404 VPN service administration (the "operator"; contacts in the Privacy Policy) my consent to process my personal data on the terms below.

1. What data

• my email address if I choose email, or my Telegram account ID if I choose the bot;
• for the "What sites can see" check: IP address, country and network (autonomous system number and name), whether the request came over IPv6, and the addresses my browser reveals through WebRTC;
• IP address and browser details (User-Agent) when the form is sent;
• the services I pick for outage alerts;
• the page the form was sent from, the time, the version of this text, and records of email confirmation, emails sent and unsubscribing.

2. Purposes

To send what I asked for (the check report, alerts about the services I picked, or the checklist); to make sure the email address is mine (a confirmation link); to keep a record of my consent and its withdrawal; to protect the form from abuse; and to count, in anonymous form, which form version works better for visitors.

3. Processing

Collection, recording, organisation, storage, correction, use, transfer to the parties in section 4, anonymisation, deletion and destruction, using automated means.

4. Who receives the data

• Resend: sending email (recipient address, subject and text);
• Telegram: bot messages, if I chose Telegram;
• hosting providers of the servers the service runs on.

For the WebRTC check my browser itself contacts Google's STUN server (stun.l.google.com), which sees my IP address. The check only runs when I press the button. The operator's servers and these recipients are in different countries; this cross-border transfer is needed to send what I asked for.

5. How long

• the consent is valid until its purposes are met or until I withdraw it;
• if the email address is not confirmed, the data is deleted after 7 days;
• if the Telegram report link is never opened, the data is deleted after one day;
• check results are erased once the report is sent, and no later than 7 days after confirmation;
• outage alerts keep coming until I unsubscribe;
• after unsubscribing, the address stays on the unsubscribe list together with the record of consent and withdrawal, so that we never write to it again and can show the processing was lawful; browser details are deleted 30 days after unsubscribing.

6. How to withdraw

Use the Unsubscribe link in any email (one click), write to hello@404vpn.io, or contact support in the @my404vpn_bot bot. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.

7. Marketing email

404 VPN news and offers are sent only if I tick the separate box in the form (or press the separate button in the bot), and only after I confirm my email. Without it there is no marketing email. I can opt out in one click from any message or with /offers off in the bot.
